Because I said so!!

My eldest son has been in the “Why?” stage for a while now. You know the one…where they ask “Why?” after every statement you make. But my daughter (who is nearly five years) and my middle son (who has just turned four) have just started this stage too. My middle son is driving absolutely insane and he is taking the “why’s” to a whole new level

EXAMPLE: (taking place in the bathroom)

Me: “Time to take your clothes off”

Middle son: “Why?”

Me: “Because you can’t get into the shower with all your clothes on”

Middle son: “Why?”

Me…already starting to get exasperated: “Because your clothes will get wet, silly!”

Middle son “Oh!”

After a short period of time, with no movements to get undressed….

Me: “Come on buddy, time to get in the shower!”

Middle son: “Why?”

Me: “Because you’re smelly!”

Middle son: “Why?”

Me: “Because you have been running around all day!”

Middle son: “Why?”

Me: “Oh for crying out loud!! Just get in the shower!!”

Middle son: “Why?”

This last statement is becoming a very common term in this household, especially having three children going through this infuriating stage.

How many of you are starting to lose your mind from this situation? Please, I am open to any suggestions on how to deal with it so I can keep my sanity!!

Bella 🙂
